History of Addis Ababa City Council

The City Council of Addis Ababa has established in 2008 for the first time by the willing of the city dwellers. The Council consists of 138 Seats. Among 138 members of the Council 111 are males and the remaining 27 are females. Out of the total seat, 137 have been held by the leading party, EPRDF, and the rest, has been held by opposition party, CUD.

The Council has been led by three administrators. These areSpeaker, Deputy Speaker and Secretary. There are several professional experts in the office of the Council to bestow professional supports for the standing committees and the council at large.
